Dawn of Kings is a slot game set in a legendary kingdom at sunrise, where banners wave gently across misty castle walls. Symbols on the reels include crowned monarchs, ancient shields, royal crests, and golden goblets, all designed with attention to detail. The background displays rolling green hills and a pale sky tinged with morning light. The music and sound effects support a calm, regal atmosphere, drawing on medieval inspirations. Animations highlight each spin, giving the game a smooth visual flow. Dawn of Kings offers a steady, theme-driven experience for anyone who enjoys mediaeval settings.

How to Play Dawn of Kings

Dawn of Kings, developed by Hacksaw, is structured around a 5-reel, 3-row layout with 13 fixed paylines. To start each round, press the SPIN button or use the spacebar on your keyboard. Place your bets within the range of £0.10 up to £2.00 per spin. Each spin offers a chance at the maximum potential win of 10,000 times your current bet amount. The current balance, bet level, and winnings are all displayed in the game in your selected currency.

Winning Combinations

Wins are achieved by matching symbols along any of the 13 paylines, starting from the leftmost reel and proceeding to the right on adjacent reels. Only the highest win per winning line is paid, and multiple wins on different paylines in the same round will be added together. The specific payouts for each set of symbols can be found in the in-game paytable. These winning rules apply in both the base game and during bonus features unless otherwise mentioned.

Key Features and Bonus Mechanics

Book Symbol

The Book symbol serves as a Wild, substituting for any paying symbol to help form winning lines. It also acts as a scatter. When multiple Book symbols appear simultaneously during the base game, they trigger special bonus modes:

  • 3 Book scatter symbols trigger the BOOK OF DAWN Bonus.
  • 4 Book scatter symbols trigger the TRIPLE BOOK OF DAWN Bonus.
  • 5 Book scatter symbols trigger the TRIPLE BOOK OF DAWN Bonus and grant a cash prize of 1000x your bet.
  • 3 Book scatter symbols with a Best of Bonus symbol activate the BEST OF BOOK OF DAWN Bonus.
  • 4 Book scatter symbols with a Best of Bonus symbol activate the BEST OF TRIPLE BOOK OF DAWN Bonus.
  • 5 Book scatter symbols with a Best of Bonus symbol activate the BEST OF TRIPLE BOOK OF DAWN Bonus and award a 1000x cash prize.

Book Mechanic in the Base Game

On any base game spin, the Book mechanic may randomly trigger. When it does, a special symbol is randomly chosen. During that spin, 3 to 5 instances of the special symbol land. After standard wins are paid, the special symbols expand to cover their reels. These symbols pay anywhere on the grid, even if separated by other symbols, forming wins across predefined lines.

Bonus Rounds

  • Book of Dawn Bonus: Activated by landing 3 Book scatters, this round provides 10 free spins. Prior to the start of this feature, one paying symbol is randomly selected as the special symbol, excluding the Book symbol itself. When at least three special symbols land on different reels during a free spin, they expand to fill their reels and pay from any position. Additional Book scatters during this bonus can result in extra free spins—2 scatters award 2 extra spins, 3 scatters award 4 extra spins. Landing 4 Book scatters upgrades the bonus to TRIPLE BOOK OF DAWN and grants 4 additional spins.
  • Triple Book of Dawn Bonus: Triggered by landing 4 or 5 Book scatter symbols, this round grants 12 free spins. Here, three different paying symbols are randomly chosen as special symbols at the feature’s start, including at least one high-paying symbol. Whenever at least three matching special symbols land across reels in a single spin, each expands and awards wins in turn. Additional Book scatters during the feature will award extra spins: 2 scatters grant 2 extra spins, 3 scatters grant 4 extra spins.
  • Best of Book of Dawn Bonus: This mode is accessed by landing 3 Book scatter symbols together with a Best of Bonus symbol in the base game. Players play three separate BOOK OF DAWN Bonus features consecutively, with each outcome stored. The highest result from these three is then awarded as the final win.
  • Best of Triple Book of Dawn Bonus: Achieved by landing 4 or 5 Book scatter symbols along with a Best of Bonus symbol, this feature entails three consecutive TRIPLE BOOK OF DAWN Bonus rounds. The result with the highest win out of the three is granted at the end.

Additional Game Information

The bottom bar on the screen displays your current balance, the bet amount, and details of any recent wins. The winning amounts are always shown according to your selected bet configuration. If the maximum potential win of 10,000 times your bet is achieved in any feature or spin, the game will immediately end the round, display a relevant message, and any remaining features or free spins for that round will not be played out. For full symbol values and detailed payline information, consult the in-game paytable. Return to player information is also shown within the game.
