How Scatters Matter™ Works

Scatters Matter™ is a video slot developed by Raw iGaming, featuring a 7x7 reel layout. Players can place bets ranging from a minimum of £0.20 up to a maximum of £3.00 per spin. The core gameplay centres on collecting gem symbols across the reels using unique scatter mechanics, with a variety of special symbols and features enriching the experience.

Gem Collection Mechanic

The objective is to collect gems to achieve wins. When four or more gems of the same type appear alongside a Scatter Magnet™ or a sticky Scatter Magnet™ of the corresponding type, those gems are collected. The payout is calculated by multiplying the total number of collected gems by their paytable value and then by the bet amount. If more than one Scatter Magnet™ of the same type is present, the win is duplicated for each instance, up to three Scatter Magnets™ in the base game.

Special Features

Multiplier Symbols

There are specialised multiplier symbols for each of the five gem types. When gems are collected and a multiplier of the same colour is present, any sums gathered by each corresponding Scatter Magnet™ are multiplied by the indicated multiplier value. If multiple multipliers of the same colour are in play, their values are added together. Available multiplier values are 2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x.

Cascade Wins

Whenever a win occurs, all winning symbols—this includes gems, Scatter Magnets™, and multipliers—are removed from the board. The remaining symbols drop into lower positions, and new symbols fill the gaps from above. Cascade sequences do not introduce additional blank symbols onto the reels.

Blank Exploder Symbol

In each paid game round, one special blank exploder symbol may land via a cascade (not on the initial panel). When the panel refills, the blank exploder and all blank symbols are removed, resulting in another cascade that fills the screen exclusively with non-blank symbols. Blank exploders do not appear during the free spins feature.

Free Spins With Scatter Booster and Sticky Symbols

  • Bonus symbols can land and remain in place during cascades.
  • Collecting 3, 4, or 5 bonus symbols on the panel after cascades will award 6, 8, or 10 free spins respectively.
  • No blank symbols appear during free spins rounds.
  • The scatter booster meter randomly selects one colour and assigns a multiplier between 1x and 15x. If Scatter Magnets™ of the chosen colour collect gems, the total win is multiplied by that scatter booster amount.
  • Sticky Scatter Magnets™ and sticky multipliers only appear during free spins. Once present, they stay on the reels for all remaining free spins.
  • Sticky Scatter Magnets™ accumulate gems over the course of the bonus. They remain visible and retain their collection progress between free spins. If they collect four or more new gems in a spin or subsequent cascade, they trigger a payout.
  • There can be up to two Sticky Scatter Magnets™ of the same colour at once during free spins.
  • Sticky multipliers absorb the values of any matching multipliers involved in a win, increasing their own value, and start at 2x. They do not reset between free spins and apply to the value of newly collected gems or the total accumulated by Sticky Scatter Magnets™.
  • A maximum of two sticky multiplier symbols of the same colour can appear in free spins.
  • Additional bonus symbols may land during free spins, awarding one extra free spin per symbol, up to a maximum of two bonus symbols per panel in free spins.
  • Free spins can return up to 10,000x your bet amount.
